“Fan art helped me with my anxiety. I still have tiny panic attacks when I’m posting, but thanks to the Instagram community and Lore Olympus fandom, I feel more secure about my art.”

ZuzuOart lives in Poland but plans to move to London soon. She’s the proud mother of a psychopath kitten who turned her life upside down and an introverted, socially awkward, houseparty killer.

How long have you done art? What mediums have you tried?

Well I have been drawing and interested in art my whole life (as long I can remember) In gimnazjum (Polish form of secondary school) I was very interested with history of art and art classes and thanks to this I went to an art high school. This consisted of  4 years studying art in mediums like traditional graphic, painting, sculpturing and graphic design in photoshop or coreldraw. Then I had a break from art, by a break I mean I was not doing much just sketching sometimes doing some small projects like business cards or leaflets. Then after  4 years in the UK, I decided to do something more creative and I went to university in Poland to try something new. I finished Faculty of Educational Sciences which is Education through Art, and my art journey starts again. I got an IPadPro from my fiance for my birthday and because of COVID, I started an art Instagram to try my hand in digital art.

How would you describe your style? What makes you different?

I think it is hard to describe because I have a few styles. One of them is realistic, graphic maybe manga/cartoonish...lol hard to tell, as I’m still trying to develop it.

Tell us your Lore Olympus story. What got you into Lore Olympus? What made you stay?

I always loved mythology (not only greek one) and one day I was looking for a good story comic/webtoon and I found Lore Olympus (i think that was like 2 years ago or something like this). I really like the storyline. It is a little bit different than the original mythology but interesting. And I wanna know the end o.O

If you could body snatch one LO character for a day, who would you be?

Hah...good question I think Hecate or Ares (lol)

How has fan art changed your style or helped you grow?

Fan art helped me with my anxiety. I still have tiny panic attacks when I’m posting, but thanks to the Instagram community and Lore Olympus fandom, I feel more secure about my art. About my style, it changes a little bit. Now is way more cartoonish and I think when you are trying to develop your fan art looking for an inspiration, your style is always changing a little bit.

Which fanart are you most proud of and why?

I think the Draw-This-In-Your-Style (DTIYS) with Hera and Persephone for @doodletoopia and another DTIYS Hera for @lily_flowerdrop and maybe Hermes with pikachu. I always see tiny mistakes in my art, so it is hard to be proud of it because i am very self critical.

Any advice for someone looking to build their art skills?

I will say practise, practise, practise and….. practise, look for inspiration and... practise Also don't be so hard on yourselves and always have belief.

Do you have goals or aspirations for your art?

I hope I will finally develop my unique style and give people more joy with my art.

About goals, I hope maybe by the end of this year I will finish a project which I’m working on now. I plan to show everyone soon on my Instagram.

Just for fun: Who did you get on this quiz?

Mushroom! I agree 100%
