How long have you been doing cosplay?
I’ve been cosplaying for a little over a year! I got really into following cosplayers, and learning about cosplay after attending my first local con. But I waited years before actually starting to cosplay myself.
Who is your favorite Lore Olympus character to cosplay?
Persephone would have to be my favorite to cosplay, specifically with short hair. I feel like Persephone feels most comfortable and confident when her hair is short, and I do too. Plus, nothing makes you feel cuter than being pink from head to toe!
Tell us your Lore Olympus story.
I got into Lore Olympus after getting tons of targeted ads about the series on Facebook. I saw it enough times, and liked the art style, so i thought why not give it a shot. And I am so glad I did.
I came for the story and the art style, and stayed for the friends and community I found here. I’ve gotten to meet so many amazing people through Lore Olympus, so for once in my life i'm actually grateful for facebook ads!
What is the most memorable cosplay?
I would have to say my most memorable cosplay is Uraraka from My Hero Academia in her hero suit. It was my first big cosplay, and my first big con, so it holds a special place in my heart. I learned so much while making it, and had some pretty major fails while making her boots. But I stuck with it and I'm very proud of it!
What other fandoms are you in? What’s special about the Lore Olympus fandom?
I have lots of shows, games, and movies that I’m really into, but I wouldnt describe myself as part of the fandom the way I am with Lore Olympus. I think the Lore Olympus fandom feels special to me because it's a bit smaller, and everyone in it respects each other. The community is so good about supporting each other's fanart, cosplay, story analysis', edits, and anything else they create in the LO universe!
If you could body snatch one LO character for a day, who would it be?
Probably Hecate! I think being her for a day would be so entertaining. She has such a confident and powerful aura that I’d love to have even for a day. That, and having magical powers for a day wouldn't hurt either!
Any advice for a new cosplayer out there?
Do the cosplay. And what I mean by that is don't get fixated on being perfect, or nailing it on the first try. Odds are you won't, and that's okay! I sure didn't. But look at it this way, if you never do the first not so great cosplay, you'll never get to do the amazing and polished cosplay! The first step, and the hardest one, is going for it.
