Cosplayer Feature: Kanto
“Cosplay gave me a chance to finally speak through my art and helped me with my anxiety.”
kanto is a 21 year old student from Poland who loves art, games and food (especially pizza). In his free time, he loves to spend time with his boyfriend play video games.
How long have you been doing cosplay?
I started cosplaying about five years ago. When I was 15, my friend showed me a League Of Legends cosplay competition, and I immediately fell in love with all of the participants. I decided to try my best, and I made my first cosplay.
Who is your favorite Lore Olympus character to cosplay?
Definitely Eros. Sometimes I feel like he is my lost brother. He is so wholesome in every possible way, and I just want to be his best friend.
Tell us your Lore Olympus story.
So my friend Vris cosplay (She is also Lore Olympus cosplayer) asked me to join her cosplay group. I decided to say “yes,” and I binged Lore Olympus in basically two days. From that moment, I fell in love with the story and characters.
What is the most memorable cosplay?
I think that it would be Eros. To be honest i think that Lore Olympus is the best fandom that has ever existed. When I've made Eros cosplay people gave me so much love that I literally cried. From that moment I’ve decided to try to cosplay every single character from LO.
What other fandoms are you in? What’s special about the Lore Olympus fandom?
I am also a part of League Of Legends fandom and many others. But to be honest gaming fandoms are really often very toxic and people were extremely mean when they saw my art. Lore Olympus fandom is really amazing because everyone is so kind to each other and there is literally no hate among us.
If you could body snatch one LO character for a day, who would it be?
I am sorry but once again i would have to say Eros. First of all he has wings which is the best thing ever. He is also super cute and handsome.
And most importantly I would be able to spend a day with his wonderful family. I would love to meet Ares and Aphrodite. They seem so cool.
What does cosplay mean to you?
Cosplay is my way to work with my insecurities. All my life I fought with my own inner demons. I hated the way I looked, and I felt like I was worthless. Cosplay gave me a chance to finally speak through my art and helped me with my anxiety.
Any advice for a new cosplayer out there?
Just do it. I know that sounds stupid, but anyone can cosplay. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. I would love to help you the way people helped me when I was starting.
